Adducts of oligothienylenevinylenes with fullerene C 60 (see Figure) have been synthesized. Their preparation along with some of their electrochemical and optical properties are reported. Owing to the small HOMO–LUMO gap of oligothienylenevinylenes, these compounds are potentially interesting for light harvesting in organic photovoltaic devices.
