A new coupled bipyridinium‐based dye system showing excellent daylight, long term, and cycle stability is presented here. Cells with the coupled system show a stable switching performance for more than 4000 h. Deliberate matching of the counter anion/dye system with the solution allows compensation of the density change, which quenches the color segregation in EC dye systems. The figure shows an EC cell containing the electrochromic dye system PpVBPhP as described in this paper.
