Silicon and silica based nanostructures are potentially very important for nanoelectronic devices. These authors used a simple pyrolysis procedure to synthesize a series of 1D silica nanowire bundles and brush‐like arrays with unique structure, such as the necklace‐like structure (see Figure, left) and the silica nanotube half‐filled with a silicon nanowire (right).
