Based on earlier works by the authors an analytical expression for the surface temperature of a halfplane heated by fast moving rolling/sliding contact and cooled by convection on the surface of the halfplane is presented by applying the Laplace transformation technique and the solution of a Volterra integral equation of the second kind. Furthermore, the influence of heat conduction in the rolling/sliding direction is investigated.
