Molecular lines represent powerful diagnostics of stellar and solar magnetic fields. They are currently successfully used for studying the thermal and magnetic structure of sunspots. The present calculations show how molecular lines can been used for testing stellar surface images and measuring magnetic fields inside spatially unresolved starspots. Particularly, observational capabilities for the registration of the Stokes V signal from starspots in the TiO band at 7055 Å are estimated.
