The stopping power of magnetized and unmagnetized electronic plasmas is investigated. Within the dielectric formalism we obtain a general formula for the linear stopping power of a coupled plasma. A quantum mechanical form of the dielectric tensor is used, so that an abitrary cutoff procedure is not required. Employing the method of frequency moments we obtain analytical results for the high‐projectile‐velocity asymptotic forms.
