The temperature dependence of electrical conductivity of CuIr 2 S 4 has been measured. In the range 4.2–50 K the conductivity can be described in terms of the Mott law, while in the range 50–200 K the experimental data are best described in terms of a small polaron model, taking into account the influence of the temperature dependence of the vibrations of the atoms in their effect on the resonance integral.
