The observation of a strong in‐plane anisotropy of electron spin‐flip Raman scattering (SFRS) in symmetrical quantum wells (001)CdTe/CdMnTe is reported. The anisotropy of SFRS intensity has been interpreted in terms of an angle‐dependent lifetime of the intermediate state, which is a consequence of the heavy‐hole g ‐factor anisotropy. Distinctive features of the bound‐electron spin‐flip have been studied.
