Spatially resolved photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectroscopy has been performed on both single and single pairs of Cd(Zn)Se/ZnSe quantum dots. While the PLE spectrum in single quantum dots reflects the energy transfer from excited dot states to the ground state, PLE spectroscopy on a single pair of correlated quantum dots clearly proves the transfer of an exciton between two individual dots.
