Higher‐order elastic constants are useful for calculating the high temperature and pressure anharmonic properties of materials. Here, the fourth‐order elastic constants of magnesium oxide are calculated from the available second‐ and third‐order elastic constant experimental data. A comparison with two sets of different theoretical results is provided.
