We have studied the dynamical population of discrete energy levels by spin‐polarized electrons in self‐assembled quantum dots (QDs) InAs/GaAs. We report on the observation of the electron mean spin redistribution over the energy spectrum of a QD as a result of Pauli blocking. The electron polarization is determined by measuring the degree of circular polarization of the QD emission after excitation by circular polarized light pulses in the GaAs barrier. A theoretical model is developed that qualitatively describes isolated as well as coupled QDs.
