We use temperature‐ and time‐resolved photoluminescence taken through a 170 nm aperture to study the dynamics associated with single CdSe/ZnSe self‐assembled quantum dots. These measurements provide strong evidence for two distinct types of states associated with these quantum dots, that have linewidths, binding energies and lifetimes which differ by an order of magnitude.
