The specific heat of the spin‐3/2 transverse Ising model with the presence of a crystal field are studied by using the effective‐field theory with correlations. In particular, the specific heat on a honeycomb lattice ( z = 3) is examined in detail for the system. We find many interesting phenomena in the system.
