New results of the electron transport properties of hexagonal YCo 5 and YCo 3 B 2 compounds are reported. The compounds belong to the R n +1 Co 3 n +5 B 2 n family. The resistivity at low temperatures shows a T 2 dependence, implying that the electron–spin wave scattering and scattering by the spin fluctuations are dominant in this temperature range. At higher temperatures the resistivity is discussed on the basis of a band model by Mott and Jones.
