The temperature dependence of the 7 Li relaxation time in a LiKSO 4 single crystal grown by the slow evaporation method was investigated using a Bruker FT NMR spectrometer. The spin–lattice relaxation time, T 1 , for 7 Li was found to be 2070 s at room temperature. The temperature dependence of the relaxation rate, /1 T 1 , was fitted by the approximation /1 T 1 = [(2.27 × 10 —6 ) T + (—2.1 × 10 —4 )] (s —1 ), for Li. Therefore, the linear temperature dependence of the relaxation time can be explained by the direct process of scattering with a single phonon.
