Reduction by near‐UV light and oxidation by atmospheric oxygen drives the self‐reversing photoredox system consisting of a solution of ferrocenium tetrafluoroborate containing a suspension of TiO 2 particles coated with octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODS, see scheme). Reduction of the ferrocenium ions decolorizes the blue solution while the white ODS‐TiO 2 particles become yellowish beige. Subsequent oxidation in air regenerates the blue solution and white particles.
