An unusual vertex‐shared double‐cubane [{Cu 3 ( μ 3 ‐Cl)( μ 3 ‐OH) 3 } 2 Cu] 6+ core surrounded by a belt of hydrogen‐bonded chloride ions is present in the title compound. Magnetic data show an S =1/2 ground state, which implies there is substantial spin‐frustration within the heptacopper aggregate.
