Chemical oxidation of two preformed dinuclear copper( II ) dithiocarbamate macrocycles leads to the formation of a novel mixed‐valence tetranuclear copper( II )/copper( III ) dithiocarbamate [2]catenane in near quantitative yield. Structural (see X‐ray crystal structure), magnetic susceptibility, electrospray mass spectrometry, and electrochemical studies all support the formation of a Cu II Cu III Cu II Cu III tetranuclear catenane dication.
