A significant difference in the arrangement of the atoms within the cage skeleton of the Al 4 C 4 N 4 polyhedron 1 was found in comparison with those of other known hexagonal‐prismatic arrays of aluminum compounds containing a twelve‐membered core. Compound 1 was prepared in good yield by the reaction of equivalent amounts of H 3 Al⋅NMe 3 and tert ‐butyl isocyanide in refluxing toluene.
