Short Ba−C bonds and a BaHB 2 four‐center bond characterize the baracarborane 1 , which was obtained by metalation of 2,3‐bis(trimethylsilyl)‐2,3‐dicarba‐ nido ‐hexaborane with [(thf) 4 Ba{Zn(CH 2 SiMe 3 ) 3 } 2 ]. A dialkylzinc side product reacts neither with the carborane nor with 1 .
