The functional groups and heterocyclic classes known to be compatible with a directed C−H activation with [Ru 3 (CO) 12 ] has been expanded through development of a new substrate screening strategy. Following C−H activation, a library of products is MS‐labeled and rapidly evaluated by positive ion electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (see scheme) to directly identify successful products and their yields.
