An unprecedented sp 2 ‐C−H bond activation takes place upon treatment of 1‐aza‐zirconacyclopentene complexes 1 with diazoalkanes 2 , which results in the α ‐C‐zirconated diazoalkane complexes 3 [Eq. (1)]. These unique C‐metalated compounds showed high versatility in reactivity studies. R=N i Pr 2 , NCy 2 ; R′=CO 2 Et, SiMe 3 .
