Nondenaturing conditions were required to investigate the complex of pheromone and pheromone binding protein (PBP) from the silkworm moth Bombyx mori by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI‐MS). The technique revealed information about the binding specificity of the sex attractant bombykol 1 and other ligands.
