A phosphasilirane was synthesized from the addition of a terminal phosphinidene complex with a silene [Eq. (1)]. Both starting materials are reactive intermediates that are simultaneously generated in situ. The first X‐ray structure analysis of a complexed phosphasilirane and the calculated strain energy for the parent system give insight into the stability of this new CPSi ring system.
