Complex mimics of enzymes: Regiospecific hydride reduction of NAD + model compounds 2 by ruthenium formyl complex 1 is reported as a mimic of aldehyde dehydrogenase reactions. The hydrogen of the formyl ligand regiospecifically transfers into the C4 position of the NAD + models. bpy=2,2′‐bipyridyl.
