The stabilization of higher formal oxidation states and a triple metal–metal bond are the results of the formation of the ruthenium( III ) corrole homodimer [{Ru(hedmc)} 2 ] ( 1 ; hedmc=2,3,8,12,17,18‐hexaethyl‐7,13‐dimethylcorrole), which is readily prepared under aerobic conditions. The structure and electronic states have been investigated by X‐ray diffraction, NMR spectroscopy, and ESR spectroscopy.
