Three pairs of groups can be added sequentially to C 60 with excellent regioselectivity giving compounds with similar spatial distribution ( 1 a and 1 b , see picture), but with permutated edge‐to‐face relationships. The structures of these isomers can be entirely deduced from the chemical shift changes induced by the magnetically anisotropic 4,5‐diazafluorene moieties.
