Integral and differential cross sections for the reaction H + D 2 → HD(v′=3, j ′) + D at a collision energy of 1.64 eV have been measured and compared with quasiclassical trajectory calculations. The low j ′ states of the HD product show strong forward scattering (see picture for j ′=0), which is attributed to the formation of a short‐lived quasibound collision complex.
