Numerous applications are possible for the novel cross‐linked Sc‐containing dendrimers (shown schematically in the picture, •=Sc), which can be prepared from the sulfonylated form of a commercially available dendrimer and Sc(OSO 2 CF 3 ) 3 . These stable, effective, and environmentally benign heterogeneous catalysts with Lewis acid properties can be handled in air, applied in aqueous or organic medium, and are easily recycled and reused without any appreciable loss of catalytic activity.
