Significantly longer life times than usual rhodium catalyst precursors are displayed by complexes such as the tetranuclear rhodium complex 1 . Complexes of this type are active hydroboration catalysts (TOF<30 000 h −1 ). Interestingly, the metal center can be reversibly inserted into the three‐membered heterocycle of the polycyclic phosphirane ligand. L=MeCN.
