Regioselective, double C−H activation of a variety of ether and amine substrates, as exemplified with an ether in [Eq. (1)], is effected by the Ir I compound [Ir( κ 3 ‐Tp Ph )( η 4 ‐isoprene)]). The formation of the corresponding Fischer‐type carbenes follows the activation reaction. Tp Ph =hydridotris(3‐phenylpyrazol‐1‐yl)borate.
