Isolated spin doublets and not quartets are identified by EPR spectroscopy and SQUID magnetometer measurements in the title compound, the first well‐characterized molecular complex with C 60 trianions. As shown in the X‐ray structure (see picture for a section), the fullerene trianions are ordered and stacked in a slightly distorted hexagonal primitive arrangement; the distances between the spherical fullerenes and also some of the K−C bond lengths are surprisingly short.
