Exceptionally high turnover numbers of up to 196×10 6 moles of product per mole of catalyst, turnover frequencies of up to 12×10 6 moles of product per mole of catalyst per hour, and yields of 98 % were achieved in the hydroarylation of norbornene with aryl iodides, in the presence of palladacyclic catalysts 1 derived from novel ortho ‐tolyldiazaphospholidine ligands.
