Endlich konnte eine in der Synthese häufig verwendete Superbase kristallographisch charakterisiert werden. Diese wichtige Verbindung wurde aus einer Lithiumamid‐Kaliumalkoxid‐Aren‐Mischung isoliert und weist eine neue karusselartige Struktur mit 16 Eckpunkten auf, die durch zwei Arten der Benzol‐Ligation stabilisiert ist (siehe Abbildung).
