This study compared the scores of Native American and Anglo American preschoolers on the Primary Self‐Concept Inventory, a self‐report measure of self‐concept. Fifty‐eight preschoolers between the ages of 4‐0 and 5‐11 participated. Analysis of the variance revealed no overall significant difference between self‐concept scores; however, mean scores on the variable of Personal‐Self were significantly higher for Native American preschoolers. Lack of overall difference might have been attributable to similar educational, regional, and socioeconomic factors.
