Colorado State University, an institution steeped in the land grant tradition, has been guided largely by practical concerns. Cast in this pragmatic mold, the Psychology Department has developed programs relevant to industry, education, and human adjustment. The growth of psychology at Colorado State is outlined here, from its long struggle to attain departmental status to its current role in the College of Natural Sciences.
