European scholarship tends to be organized around “visible colleges” comprising institutes, libraries, and archives. These units are described on the basis of a trip to Great Britain, Scotland, the German Deomcratic Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany. Addresses and sources for planning research abroad are also given.
