Abstract During the 1920s Clark University served as the forum for rival viewpoints in psychology. After Carl Murchison assumed the chairmanship in 1923, the dormant Department of Psychology experienced a rebirth upon the arrival of scholars representing Titchenerian psychology, behaviorism, and Gestalt psychology. These events and their effect on graduate life are here described.
