Events both inside and outside the discipline have rendered political science amenable to testing a more biological orientation. The contemporary biopolitics movement began its vigorous development in 1967, and there is evidence that since that time the biological orientation has had an impact upon the discipline, although the future of biopolitics is not yet certain.
