This study investigated efforts designed to encourage use of infant automobile restraints. The effectiveness of education and modeling, with and without a leaner program, was evaluated. Participants in the study were low‐income, Hispanic parents. Findings indicate education, modeling, and a loaner program lead to moderate increases in the number of infants who are provided a safe first ride home from a hospital.
