The provision of field‐based training is a major concern of community psychologists. This article presents an example of a practicum experience designed to involve the graduate trainee in primary, secondary, and tertiary intervention activities. The project was based in a satellite clinic of an urban community mental health center and was conducted at an inner‐city elementary school. The target population was lower socioeconomic status White children, many of whom presented school behavior problems. A multilevel training approach is discussed, and the project's various interventions are described. Attention is given to the flexibility of the approach in meeting community needs as they become known. Recommendations for modifying the approach for future use are discussed.
