This paper presents a three‐dimensional model for guiding the process of training community psychologists. The model, which emerged from a yearlong practicum, delineates four activities to be mastered, three levels of intimacy with these activities, and three levels of support provided to trainees. The model is presented first in abstract terms and then in terms of the experiential description of practicum activities. The paper concludes with a conceptualization of the process undergone in developing the training model.
