Behavioral instruction procedures designed to teach the skills involved in completing employment application materials were evaluated using a multiple baseline design. The results showed that training was effective in teaching employment application completion and resumé writing skills to three learning‐disabled adolescents. Rating data obtained from potential employers suggested that training improved the appearance and content of the application materials. In addition, the employers viewed applicants as better qualified for employment after training and indicated that they were more likely to invite the applicants to participate in a job interview. This study demonstrates an effective strategy for building the capacities of job candidates and illustrates a method for assessing the impact of training on employers' perceptions of the applicants.
