Parents in small groups were trained in childrearing using behavioral, reflective, and discussion type formats. A measure of self‐disclosure was applied to random excerpts for each group. Groups were found to differ in the amounts of self‐disclosure and in the patterns of self‐disclosure across time. The significance of these differences is discussed as they relate to behavioral change.
