From a pool of items administered to 143 detoxified, chronic alcoholics, brief scales were developed for evaluating Assertiveness, Marital Communication, and Work Satisfaction. All three scales were found to be sufficiently reliable (internally consistent) for use in evaluating group performance. Preliminary validity data were reported and the scales also were found to be relatively free from social desirability response set.
