Abstract A study of 99 male and female streakers at one university revealed normality on demographic variables, but a significantly higher level of external control in male streakers over male nonstreakers, and a lower but nonsignificant level of external control in female streakers over female nonstreakers. Participants' explanations of the basis of their streaking behavior and their feelings about streaking were discussed.
