The cover picture shows the exquisite control alkyl chains have over the configuration of a molecular superlattice. The background STM image of a self‐assembled monolayer of hexakis(dodecyloxy)‐substituted triphenylene molecules on a graphite substrate suggests an essentially hexagonal and highly symmetric packing. The lower left corner presents a higher‐resolution image (13×13 nm 2 ), in which the interlacing alkoxy chains that determine this packing are detailed; in the top right the C 12 ‐substituted molecules are modeled. For C 16 and higher alkoxy chains, the hexagonal form has buckled into lamellar packing, while C 14 chains occupy a critical transition point.
