The cover picture shows a model of a single‐layer tungsten disulphide nanotube (blue) sheathing a multiwalled carbon nanotube (orange). The discrete separation of tungsten disulphide and carbon layers and the band gap of the tungsten disulphide coat (top insert shows a band energy diagram for tungsten disulphide) should enable the composite material to function as an insulated nanowire (bottom insert shows the band energy diagram of a multiwalled carbon nanotube) for potential uses in nanoelectronics.
