The cover picture shows a traditional infomation‐storage device along with a more contempory product, a book and CD, respectively. The illustrated molecule, an organic photorefractor, may revolutionize information storage. Photorefractive materials are capable of storing infomation holographically. Reseach into this area has made rapid progress in the last decade and, most excitingly, the organic photoreactive materials are cheaper to manufacture and have a higher resolution (therefore more data storage per unit volume) than their inorganic counterparts.
