Anti‐inflammatory drug candidates could result from efforts to reduce the peptidic character of integrin antagonists such as the compound shown in the scheme. Synthesis and NMR spectroscopy structural analysis of peptidomimetics that act as α4β7‐integrin antagonists provided important information about the structural and functional requirements of the Leu‐Asp‐Thr recognition sequence for α4β7 integrins.
